Father’s Day

Celebrant: In the Life of the Holy Spirit, together we pray…

Deacon/Reader:

1.           In a world where there are whisperings of terror on every side, may we be reminded as Jeremiah was that the LORD is with us, like a mighty champion, we pray to the Lord.

2.           In a world where there are whisperings of terror on every side, may we have confidence to entrust our lives to LORD, our creator, we pray to the Lord.

3.           In a world where there are whisperings of terror on every side, may we still give thanks to the LORD, our God, with song and praise for our salvation, we pray to the Lord.

4.           In a world where there are whisperings of terror on every side, may we boldly proclaim the gift of Jesus Christ and his sacrifice which restored our relationship with God and with our truest selves, we pray to the Lord.

5.           In a world where there are whisperings of terror on every side, may we rejoice that we need fear no one, not our enemies nor even death, we pray to the Lord.

6.           In a world where there are whisperings of terror on every side, may we clearly hear the voice of Jesus telling us how very valuable each and every one of us is to him and most of all to our heavenly Father, we pray to the Lord.

7.           In a world where there are whisperings of terror on every side, may we boldly proclaim Jesus’ death and resurrection that at his name every knee will bow and every tongue confess that God is LORD over all the earth, we pray to the Lord.

Celebrant: Loving Father, hear our prayers and in Your Spirit, fill us always with the fire of Your love, as pray through Christ our Lord.  R: Amen.
