Sixth Sunday of Easter

1. For peace in the world, You so loved, Father, that You sent Jesus into it to be with us. We pray to the Lord.

 

2. Change the mind and heart of our President and the threat of relaunching war in Iran. We pray to the Lord.

 

3. Raise up citizens with hearts open to Your Peace, Lord, peace that passes all understanding. We pray to the Lord.

 

4. For Your Church in the world You Love, Lord, make us witnesses of Your peace in these troubled, harsh times. We pray to the Lord.

 

5. In thanksgiving for Pope Leo’s visitation to Algeria, Cameroon, Angola and Equatorial Guinea, the land/s that gave us St Augustine. We pray to the Lord.

 

6. Help us listen deeply to those who hold different world views and different beliefs as Pope Leo’s missionary spirit is showing us now. We pray to the Lord.

 

7. Wake us up to this country’s history and the present threats of discriminatory decisions made to the voting rights of people of different colors. We pray to the Lord.

 

8. Teach us how to see and how to speak the Truth beyond “truth social” that can betray a deeper truth telling in violent times. We pray to the Lord.

 

9. Raise up leaders with hearts for Your poor and persecuted in this world and show us how to live and work together to build Your Kingdom. We pray to the Lord.

 

10. Don’t leave us on our own, Lord! Work through us to do Your will. We pray to the Lord.

 

11. Create Your peace in our hearts especially when we face violence and verbal abuse for our faith.  We pray to the Lord.

 

Celebrant: Loving Father, hear us and in Your Love, shepherd us, always, as we pray in Your Holy Name, through Christ our Lord.
