BODY AND BLOOD OF CHRIST -C- JUNE 23, 2019

Gen 14: 18-20; Psalm 110: 1-4; I Corinthians 11: 23-26; Luke 9: 11b-17

By: Jude Siciliano, OP

Mini reflections on the Sunday scripture readings designed for persons on the run. "Faith Book" is also brief enough to be posted in the Sunday parish bulletins people take home.

From today’s Gospel reading:

"They all ate and were satisfied.

And when the fragments were picked up,

They filled twelve wicker baskets."

Reflection:

Jesus’ feeding the large crowd in "a deserted place" stirs our awareness of the Eucharist – the meal that keeps us together on our journey home. It is a nourishing food that addresses our present hungers and enables us to recognize Who is nourishing us day by day as we travel life’ difficult terrain.

So, we ask ourselves:

  • In what "deserted place" do you find yourself these days.

  • What "daily bread" is God giving you in the midst of your difficult journey?
